la-jay-jay

The last Lazarides show in LA this Summer has just opened and it looks pretty good. Titled ‘When Superstars Ruled The World’ Jay Jay Burridge explores what would happen if dinosaurs were still around today. Check out more images here, here and here.

picture-1

The Joshua Liner’s Summer Show is upon us once more and from the preview pictures it looks like it’s going to be as hot as the streets of NYC are right now. The above graphite picture by Evan Hecox, as usual, blows me away but there’s plenty other good stuff to browse by clicking here.

Olly Moss is an unstoppable roll at the moment. If you don’t believe me, check out the amazing series of prints he did for the upcoming Levi’s / Alamo Drafthouse classic tour. Not sure whether these will be going on sale, and while some are more than a nod to the style of Noma Bar, all are killer. See them all here.

Dalektable

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Dalek has a great project unveiling tomorrow night called ‘Chaos on the edge of reasoning’. A huge 37 foot mural artwork has been created which will be cut up and sold off in various sized chunks over the coming days. I would kill to see this in reality, the colours look like they’d take the eye out of you. More information here.

Uber talented US typographer Jessica Hische has just released a seriously cool collection of 8 inch square letterpressed letters from her Drop Cap series. Available individually or as a full matching number set, which comes with a free cake (no lying), these look good on the web. Can only imagine what they look like in reality. Yummy (the prints and the cake!).

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

A day early on this one this week but wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out… Daniel Danger has a brand new piece available. “Where Ashes Take The From Of Houses” is a two color Intaglio-type printed on a 28 inch x 48 inch sheet of Hahnemuhle Copperplate paper. This image has an edition size of 50 with 10 AP’s. Pick yours up here (there’s only 11 left at time of typing) and read on for a little more information about this piece.

“For this print we made an Intaglio-type with an image that Daniel had created for the album art of the Aloha record “Home Acres”. The image was digitally separated into two positives and exposed to ImagOn coated plates. The first printed layer is a textured lamp black that gives the print a soft atmosphere. The second plate is printed in black and consists of detailed line work the evokes the graphic qualities of a lino-cut. This print has an edition of 50 with 10 artists proofs. The paper size of the image is 28×48 with a plate size of 18×36.”

Cut & Taste

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

What better way to start this grey Tuesday than with this little ditty, ‘Even Your Friend’ by The Chap. Aurally interesting, the video by the good guys at Non-Format really brings the playfulness to life. You can listen to their whole album here.

So time is ticking ever closer to OFFSET2010 on October 1-3 and we still have a few more exciting additions to our main stage lineup to announce over the next few weeks.

But first, to celebrate the launch of our new look website we have introduced a GROUP RATE this year. You can now book 5 tickets for the price of 4, that’s a saving of 30 euro per ticket on the current EARLY BIRD price of 150euro. So talk to your friends and work colleagues and put your heads together, you know it makes sense.

Our EARLY BIRD offer is limited and will run until September 1st or until the allocated number of tickets run out. We will try to alert you all if the numbers are running low. After the EARLY BIRD offer finishes the GROUP RATE will revert to the Full Price, still a saving but obviously the sooner you buy your tickets the better.. so hopefully as many of you as possible can join us.

THE LINEUP
We are thrilled to be welcoming so many of our favourite creatives to Dublin for OFFSET2010 including George Lois, Mark Farrow, Lance Wyman, Emily Forgot, Nate Williams, Martin Haake, David O’Reilly, Studio AKA and so many more. For the full lineup as it stands currently just visit the speakers page but we will be announcing a couple more names to that list soon.

STILL MORE TO COME
OFFSET2010 will see a week-long programme of club-nights, live performances, presentations, gallery shows and in-store events taking place throughout the capital, showcasing world-class designers, musicians, fashion designers, illustrators, street artists — and much, much more.

We will announcing some exciting nighttime events over the coming weeks so make sure you join our mailing list to make you don’t miss anything.

Hope to see you all soon!
Bren, Richard and Peter
