Olly Moss is an unstoppable roll at the moment. If you don’t believe me, check out the amazing series of prints he did for the upcoming Levi’s / Alamo Drafthouse classic tour. Not sure whether these will be going on sale, and while some are more than a nod to the style of Noma Bar, all are killer. See them all here.

Uber talented US typographer Jessica Hische has just released a seriously cool collection of 8 inch square letterpressed letters from her Drop Cap series. Available individually or as a full matching number set, which comes with a free cake (no lying), these look good on the web. Can only imagine what they look like in reality. Yummy (the prints and the cake!).

Pay Day Print: Daniel Danger

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

A day early on this one this week but wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out… Daniel Danger has a brand new piece available. “Where Ashes Take The From Of Houses” is a two color Intaglio-type printed on a 28 inch x 48 inch sheet of Hahnemuhle Copperplate paper. This image has an edition size of 50 with 10 AP’s. Pick yours up here (there’s only 11 left at time of typing) and read on for a little more information about this piece.

“For this print we made an Intaglio-type with an image that Daniel had created for the album art of the Aloha record “Home Acres”. The image was digitally separated into two positives and exposed to ImagOn coated plates. The first printed layer is a textured lamp black that gives the print a soft atmosphere. The second plate is printed in black and consists of detailed line work the evokes the graphic qualities of a lino-cut. This print has an edition of 50 with 10 artists proofs. The paper size of the image is 28×48 with a plate size of 18×36.”

Pay Day Print: Eine (Again!)

Okay, okay, so I mentioned Eine a couple of weeks ago but yesterday British PM David Cameron gave the canvas above to Barack Obama so I thought he was worth a mention again. This could go one of two ways, either it’s the end of street art is proclaimed as if the most powerful man in the world is into it, it can hardly be underground anymore, or… this is the first day that Ben Eine wakes up a couple of notches up in the Top Trumps of street art. I’m betting on the latter and he’ll be pumped up and rocking, and more power to him. I’m a huge fan of his work, have been for years, and his pieces and prints are always of interest, especially the Shutterfont and number prints. So, don’t delay and get your sticky little mitts on one of his prints while they’re still reasonably affordable. Go on, get in there!

‘Look what’s in my pants!’ is a lovely timed edition from 3 of the hottest graf artists out there. A colourful giclee created with the latest Epson technology, the edition is dictated by however many orders are taken in the next week here. Here’s some more info on how the piece came about, must say the detail on this looks extraordinary.

Eine has also been busy of late, finally releasing the Numbers edition of his world record breaking Alphabet print last year. I got this as a present and believe me, in the flesh this thing is a gem. It’s available in 3 colour variants, on black, white and gold.

The new Obey print has come and gone, pretty apt for now, what with the BP disaster, and all but it was done ages ago.

The prolific guys at It’s Nice That have relaunched their shop site with some lovely new products, mostly curated by their own fair hands. On my hitlist (feel free to buy it for me, think of yourself as a philantropist) is this print by Anthony Burrill. Me likey a lot.

And lastly, here’s what I reckon we can call The Bonkers Print Of The Week. Guess the film title it shares its title with, bet you can’t (cough!).

For his latest show, Russ Mills has dropped his Byroglyphics moniker and kept it simple for everyone, preferring them to focus on the strength of his work. Stunning large scale pieces and smaller more affordable compositions make up the show, would have loved to see these in real life. Mind you, at just over a grand for the largest pieces on wood (over a metre square) and only £35 for the print below, there’s no reason not to let a little bit of Russ into your life.

Talk about making hay while the sun shines, this print by Moritz Resl features the silhouette of every competing nation rearranged into the shape of the notorious sonic annihilator. Available soon in a ridiculously low edition of only 20, they’ll be gone in no time so make sure to check his Twitter for the launch date.

OFFSET2009 speaker James Jean has just released this cracking gig poster for Imogen Heap and friends and it’s so amazing I can hardly hold back from pulling the trigger and nabbing one. A litho print with plenty of flourescents it’s sure to go fast, as me Mam would say… Magnificent!

Last week’s Pay Day Prints: Anthony Burrill

Better late than never I suppose, here’s the latest crafted gems from one of the highlights of last year’s OFFSET outing, Anthony Burrill. 2 new prints and a clock make for a good innings from the prolific designer. The story regarding the clock is it’s the result of Anthony hearing Massimo speak about OFFSET also, and seeing the opportunity for him to express himself in other ways, product design included. Buy the print above here, the print below here and the clock here. Happy Monday indeed!
