Out With Ya…

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Board meeting of minds

Working with a plethora of creative minds across the globe Mekanism Skateboards has built a name for itself as curators/creators of some of the most interesting decks out there. Delta, John Maeda, Invader, Peter Zimmermann, Warren Du Preez, Nick Thornton Jones and many more have taken the canvas and reinvented the visual. My favourite by far is their most recent collaboration (below is all its stunning metallic glory) with Danish/Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson ‘Your Mercury Ocean’. The fluid style and reflective nature really is a step beyond and takes it from being a deck to a highly desirable art object.
